Physics Playground
Last updated: August 1, 2026Physics Playground is an interactive science education app. We take your privacy seriously and collect the minimum data needed to make the app work well.
The app signs you in anonymously using Firebase Authentication. This creates a random user ID so your experiment progress can be saved. No email, name, or social login is required or requested.
Your anonymous account is tied to your device. If you uninstall the app, your progress is no longer accessible (we do not link it to any external identity).
The following is saved to Firebase Firestore under your anonymous user ID:
This data is used only to display your progress inside the app. It is never shared or sold.
We use Firebase Analytics (by Google) to understand how the app is used — for example, which experiments are most popular and whether the camera control gets used.

When the app crashes or hits an error, we collect a diagnostic report so we can fix it. We use Firebase Crashlytics (by Google) for this.

We use the Meta (Facebook) SDK to measure how many people install Physics Playground after seeing one of our ads. It reports app installs and app launches to Meta.
On iOS this uses Apple's SKAdNetwork, which reports only aggregated, delayed results and does not identify you. We do not request permission to track you across other apps and websites, and we do not access your device's advertising identifier on iOS.
On Android, your device's advertising ID is shared with Meta for install attribution. You can reset or delete it at any time in Settings → Google → Ads.
The app offers an optional camera feature that uses your device's front camera to detect hand gestures for hands-free control of experiments.
Beyond Firebase and the Meta attribution SDK described above, we do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking SDKs. Neither is used to build a profile of you across other companies' apps or websites.
Physics Playground is suitable for a general audience aged 13 and over and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because we use anonymous authentication only, no personal data (name, email, date of birth) is ever entered or stored.
All data is stored in Google Firebase, which uses industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access is restricted by Firebase Security Rules so only your anonymous user ID can read or write your own progress data.
To delete your data, contact us at the email below and we will remove your anonymous Firestore record within 30 days. Uninstalling the app also severs access to the data (your anonymous credentials are lost with the uninstall).

We may update this policy as the app evolves. The "Last updated" date at the top will always reflect the most recent version. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
